Balance For Your Body & Soul
"The body never lies"
- Martha Graham
Martha Graham was an American dancer and choreographer regarded as one of the foremost pioneers of modern dance and the first dancer ever to perform at the White House.
What does the body of a dancer tell us? They way she moves, what she feels, a story she is telling with her body. That she takes care of herself and is intune with the connections between her body & soul.
Since the body never lies, we must ask ourselves what our body says about who we really are inside. Where does our emotional blockage sit on our body? Do we have slouched shoulders? Do we have lower back pain or excess fat around our belly?
Our body is not a veil or mask. It is a temple protecting our souls. Some of us spend a great deal of time decorating the temple without nourishing our soul. Some of us who appear physically attractive become more of a turn off when our spirit is empty, depressed, wounded or malnourished.
The key to happiness is balance between the mind, body and soul.
If we feel off balance because we have either ignored our body or tried to overcompensate physical beauty for inner beauty, how do we begin our journey to balance?
Let's get to the root of it! Our bodies have energy fields or auras around them called chakras that are connected to our spirit and emotions. The first chakra is the root, which is basically at our bottom, not our feet but our behind.
Our root is our foundation. So a healthy root chakra makes us feel more grounded and connected to the Earth and people. Our root chakra related to our needs for survival and security. So things that threaten our sense of security, like not enough food, clothing, shelter or money threaten the health of our root chakra.
To balance your root chakra, try the following:
* Wear Red
* Standing Forward Bend
* Meditate While Bent Over
* Focus on the Earth
